David Letterman
                                     Explains the World
Television Personality, David Letterman, goes behind the scenes to the inner-working of the globe to explain why people and things are the way they are!

Thursday-March 17, 2005 (AFRICA): Hmm... again, not what I expected. It turns out that the things people hear aren't really always true. Wow! Who would have guessed? Ahh... like it mattered anyway. I was looking for something. I didn't know what though. Maybe I wasn't looking for anything and I was merely confusing myself because I got mad and was fighting myself. Ahh... no. I was confused.
I walked a long way through grasslands before I realized I wasn't getting anywhere. I went miles and miles. No where? I wasn't going anywhere. I was moving but I wasn't. I mean... I moved a great distance across that land but... when it came down to it, I may as well stayed in one place. Nothing seemed to change. Maybe everything was changing, but I wasn't so I didn't notice. Wouldn't I have noticed? Maybe it was the other way around. Whatever reason it was I was in search of something but I had no clue how to find it. Did I? And so, I kept on my way following a path I saw etched out in-front of me. Where was I going? It really didn't matter... I was following a path in-front of me. How else does someone find where there going? I suppose there are other ways...but those ways require effort and not many people like to take those paths.
I looked behind me to notice I was being chased by a lion! I think it was a lion. I can't quite remember the details all the same... it really didn't matter I guess. So, I was thinking, "Hey, maybe I should run!" Great plan. RUN. Except, I didn't. Well, think about it... isn't it easier to go the same speed and never change rather than speeding up or going faster? I wonder if those are even two different things... I wasn't so sure. Well, I did know one thing, I was getting real tired.
